Observed breakfast burritos (44), country ham (44), Canadian bacon (44) & gravy (43) holding over 41F in the reach thru cooler behind the meat fryers. There was a pan of gravy at 100F in the cooler as well - this product is not normally kept & cooled. The hot food may have caused the temps to rise in that cooler. The right side of the light fixture was also melted & the bulb barely hanging in place; there was a smell of burning in the cooler as well. CDI - cheddar slices discarded. All foods moved from reach thru to different coolers & the reach thru cooler was unplugged; service called in. Ensure cooler holds food at 41F once repaired. TCS foods held cold shall be held at 41F or below.

Corrected during inspection (CDI) - onions discarded by the Person in Charge (PIC). Foods held using time as a public health control shall be discarded at the end of the holding period.
38 0.50 Personal cleanliness No No No 2-303.11 Prohibition-Jewelry - C - Observed an employee acting as a food employee while wearing a smart watch & a ring with raised stones. CDI - manager had employee remove ring & watch. Except for a plain ring such as a wedding band, while preparing FOOD, FOOD EMPLOYEES may not wear jewelry including medical information jewelry on their arms and hands. REPEAT. 2-402.11 Effectiveness-Hair Restraints - C - Observed a manager working on the line without hair restraint. Food employees shall use head coverings, beard guards and clothing to restrain body hair from contacting exposed food, equipment, and utensils. 2-302.11 Maintenance-Fingernails - PF - Observed two separate employees with nail polish handle fries without gloves. CDI - manager instructed them to don gloves before handling unpackaged food & to remove the polish by the next day. Unless wearing intact gloves in good repair, a Food Employee may not wear fingernail polish or artificial fingernails when working with exposed food.
45 1 Equipment, food and non-food-contact surfaces approved; cleanable, properly designed, constructed and used No No No 4-501.11 Good Repair and Proper Adjustment-Equipment - C - Observed rust on the small shelves by the front drive thru (where condiments are kept) & minor rust on the bottom shelf in the reach thru cooler. Observed that the handwashing sink by the office & the faucets at the 3-comp sink drip even when turned off. Also observed that the back handwashing sink is draining very slowly. Replace shelves, repair faucets & sink. Observed torn gaskets on both doors of the biscuit cooler - replacements were provided, just not yet installed. Equipment shall be maintained in good repair & compliant with 4-1 & 4-2 of the NC Food Code. 4-101.19 Nonfood-Contact Surfaces - C - Observed chemicals stored on un-sealed wooden shelves in the outdoor storage area. Recommend non-absorbent shelving or moving chemicals inside. Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment that are exposed to splash, spillage, or other food soiling or that require frequent cleaning shall be constructed of a corrosion-resistant, nonabsorbent, and smooth material.
53 0.50 Physical facilities installed, maintained and clean No No No 6-501.11 Repairing-Premises, Structures, Attachments, and Fixtures-Methods - C - Observed broken tile along the threshold of the back door to the walk in freezer. Repair. Physical facilities shall be kept in good repair. 6-501.16 Drying Mops - C - Observed a mop stored in the bucket of mop water. When not in use, store mops so they can air-dry without contaminating walls, equipment or supplies. 6-501.114 Maintaining Premises, Unnecessary Items and Litter - C - Observed numerous boxes on the floor in the outdoor storage area. Reorganize items, remove what is unnecessary, store necessary items off the floor to facilitate cleaning. The premises shall be maintained free of unnecessary items & litter.
