Utensils shall be free from hazards, finished to have a smooth surface, and shall be kept clean and in good repair. Replace can opener blade to avoid the creation of small metal fragments or shavings. 15A NCAC 18A .2809 (3); Bottom of reach-in freezer has food debris accumulation. Nonfood-contact surfaces shall be kept clean. Clean bottom of freezer.

Hot water shall be maintained between 80°F and 110°F at handwashing sinks accessible to children. A slight adjustment is needed. Adjust water down slightly. No demerits taken.

Another toilet in the two year olds classroom needs cleaning around the base where toilet is sealed to the bathroom floor. All toilet fixtures shall be kept clean and in good repair.
22 0 Soap, approved hand drying devices, toilet tissue paper available: .2817, .2818, .2836 No No No 15A NCAC 18A .2818 (d). No hand soap was available at bathroom sink in infant room. No paper towels were available in another Pre-K classroom at bathroom sink. Liquid soap and disposable towels or other hand-drying devices shall be provided at every handwash lavatory area. Supplies restocked during inspection. All other sinks were equipped with towels and soap. No demerits taken.
