General CommentsDuring inspection, EHS CO2 monitor produced a low alarm with gas level measured below 35ppm and proceeded with standard procedure for gas monitor alarms. EHS refreshed monitor outside and verified a second time, the alarm was genuine, with the source thought to be the hot water heater in back room. Staff members report no symptoms of gas toxicity or known problems with the heater, or other gas appliances. EHS verified the hood was on and clearing steam from cooking area as expected, and appeared in good working condition. The PIC is advised to call Piedmont Natural Gas to ensure proper functioning and safety of gas appliances onsite due to persistent low-level alarm warning, though no immediate physical hazard was determined.
