An employee was seen transferring water from the kitchen hand sink into the mop wash bucket during today’s inspection. A handwashing sink may not be used for purposes other than handwashing. The REHS reminded the cafeteria manager that hand sinks are only meant to be used for handwashing and not as a mop wash sink. CDI |

5-402.11 Backflow Prevention (P)
The 3-compartment sink’s drain lines are directly connected to the waste line piping. A direct connection may not exist between the sewage system and a drain originating from equipment in which food, portable equipment, or utensils are placed. Facility was built prior to 2012. If the kitchen is ever remodeled, air gaps will need to be added between the drain line piping of any 3-compartment sinks, food prep sinks and the waste line piping. R |

Portions of paint are peeling off of the bricks inside of the lunchroom. There are also areas of peeling paint along the ceiling inside of the kitchen and dry storage room. Floors, floor coverings, walls, wall coverings, and ceilings shall be designed, constructed, and installed so they are smooth and easily cleanable. R

Unused milk cooler and reach-in freezer inside of the lunchroom need to be taken out. The establishment shall maintain a premises which is free of items that are unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the establishment, such as litter or equipment that is nonfunctional or no longer used . |
