6 0.50 Proper eating, tasting, drinking or tobacco use Yes No No 2-401.11 (A) Employees shall eat, drink, or use any form of tobacco only in designated areas where the contamination of exposed food, clean equipment and utensils, and other items needing protection can not result. Observed employee eating in the kitchen when I entered the kitchen to conduct my inspection. CDI - PIC had employee move to the dining room.
10 0 Handwashing sinks supplied & accessible Yes No No 5-205.11 (B) A handwashing sink may not be used for purposes other than handwashing Pf. Observed a drink inside the handsink. CDI - PIC removed the drink.
16 0 Food-contact surfaces: cleaned & sanitized Yes No No 4-501.114 Maintain sanitizer at correct concentrations when being used to sanitize. -P Observed 0 ppm of chlorine in sanitizing basin, as they were actively washing. CDI - PIC corrected by adding more chlorine and is now measuring at 50 ppm. For more information please visit: https://health.mecknc.gov/envhealth/food-and-facilities-sanitation or view our training videos at the following weblinks: Sanitizing Solutions - https://youtu.be/ykP2mr9CtRg and How to Test Sanitizer https://youtu.be/y0SjmnabFaY
23 3 Proper date marking & disposition No Yes Yes 3-501.18 Discard the food requiring date labels once time/temperature window has expired, if it has not been labeled, or if the label is incorrect. -P The PIC should train and assign staff to monitor date marking to prevent the use of food products that are no longer in compliance with 3-501.17 (A), (B), or (C) Some TCS RTE foods in sandwich cooler were missing pull dates from the freezer and some TCS foods were dated for 8 days instead of 7. All Examples: after 1/9-1/16, green beans 1/23-1/30 both of these were in the walk in cooler, but you can see they were removed from the freezer. Remember that the day of prep is day 1, day 2 is your thaw/pull dates, you have 5 remaining days to use the food, this will give you a total of 7 days. REPEAT Verification visit will be conducted in 3 days (2/10/26) to ensure compliance. For more information, please visit: https://health.mecknc.gov/envhealth/food-and-facilities-sanitation or view our training videos at the following weblinks: What are TCS Foods https://youtu.be/bRvqAETDjQU and Date Marking Food Safely https://youtu.be/BOPsSNUajYs .
