General Comments

Ms. Caroline (housekeeping) was present during the inspection. NO POINT DEDUCTION: 2. Observed the floor with debris in resident rooms 309 and 215. **Keep all flooring clean. 15A NCAC 18A .1309 (a). 4. Observed a light cover was missing in room 108. **Keep all lighting in good repair. 8. Observed one shower chair with black residue on the bottom side of the chair. **Keep all bathing equipment clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1312 (a) and (f). Observed a toilet seat with dried urine in the C wing community shower room. **Keep all toilet equipment clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1312 (b). 14. Observed one in-use housekeeping cart on "D wing" (memory care) was not supplied with disinfectant. Stock all housekeeping carts with disinfectant so that shared showers are cleaned and disinfected daily (each resident has a different shower day). **Skin contact surfaces of all shared bathing equipment shall be cleaned with a detergent solution and then disinfected with an EPA registered hospital disinfectant between patient uses. 15A NCAC 18A .1312 (f). 21. Observed the dumpster doors were left open. **All solid wastes containing food scraps or other decomposable materials shall, prior to disposal, be kept in leak-proof, non-absorbent containers, which shall be kept covered with tight fitting lids when filled or stored, or not in continual use. 15A NCAC 18A .1316 (a).
