Observed new gate installed on fence for grill area that leads off of pool dec. Gate locked at time of inspection.
Newly installed gate provides access from outside pool deck to pool deck. Gate previously not regulated that leads from grill area to pool deck is now considered enterence to pool deck and does not meet requirements. Gate from grill area to pool deck has latch below 54" and swings toward the pool.
.2528(a) Gate latches shall be 54" in height.
.2528(b) Gates may only swing toward pool if built prior to May 2010 and natural topography, landscape, or egress prevents the gate from swinging away from the pool.
.2528(a) Gate latches located at less than 54" shall require the use of key, combination lock or card reader or be located on the inside of the gate at least three inches below the top of the gate with no greater than 1/2" within 18" of latch mechanism.
