Observed grout missing between floor tiles in shower area throughout in many pods. Regrout floor throughout in shower areas in PODs. Observed damaged floor tile in shower area in 6700 POD upstairs shower, 5300 and 5800 POD shower. Repair or replace damaged floor tiles. Observed grout worn and missing from around floor drains in shower areas in POD. Monitor and regrout area around floor drains in showers.
All floors must be easily cleanable and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1507(a). |

Observed walls in need of general wiping and cleaning around light switch and door handles in cells within PODs. General cleaning and repainting of wall under shower fixtures in shower areas in PODs. Observed water stained ceiling tiles throughout in hallway area on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th floor. Address any roof or HVAC leaks, then replace water stained ceiling tiles. Repaint ceiling access paneling in POD 4200. Touch-up paint throughout in PODs and cells where needed.

Observed laminate missing and damaged on shower stall walls and doors. Either replace missing and damaged laminate on shower stall walls and doors or repaint area where laminate is missing. Observed paint missing from metal poles on shower stall fixtures throughout in shower area throughout in different PODs. Repaint metal fixtures which paint is coming off before rust form on metal fixtures in shower areas.

Observed damaged, stained and soiled mattresses throughout in cells throughout different PODs. Replace torn and damaged mattresses in cells. After cleaning mattresses in cells lean mattresses against wall to allow mattresses to air dry and to prevent the discoloration on underside of mattresses and to prevent metal bed framing from rusting. Thoroughly clean furniture(mattress, metal table, metal stool, metal bed framing) in cells once cells is vacant. Replace damaged green tables used in common sitting area in PODs. Replace damaged counter tops and backsplash on cabinets near control station/command center within PODs. Repaint rusted metal bed framing in cells where needed. Replace torn and worn wool blankets given to inmates. All furniture, bunks, mattresses, and other furnishings shall be kept clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1517 (a). Clean bed linen and easily cleanable or washable mattress covers, washable mattresses, or equivalent, shall be provided for each occupant and shall be changed as often as necessary. 15A NCAC 18A .1517 (b). |
