General Comments

Monitor water temperatures in classrooms and bathrooms. Today water temperature maxed out at 78F-79F +/- two degrees accuracy with my thermometer. Water temperature shall be 80F-110F.**Hot water shall be maintained between 80°F and 110°F at handwashing sinks accessible to children. 15A NCAC 18A .2815 (e).Observed febreeze, lysol in aerosol can and lysol all purpose cleaner stored on top of filing cabinet in nurse room. STORE ALL HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS LOCKED AWAY. Products locked in filing cabinet in nurse room at time of inspection!**All hazardous items must be stored behind lock and key. 15A NCAC 18A .2820 (b). Observed some paint missing from wall behind water play center in room B2. Repaint/touch-up paint wall behind water play center and anywhere else needed.**Keep all floors, walls, and ceilings, clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .2824 and .2825. Could not tell if light bulbs in light fixture in bathrooms within classroom are shatter proof and janitor could not tell also. Provide documentation that light bulbs are shatterproof light bulbs or replace light bulbs with shatterproof light bulbs.**Light bulbs must be shatterproof or shielded. 15A NCAC 18A .2826 (a). Apply wood sealant on wooden fixtures which sealant has came off. Observed loose handles on cabinet doors in B2 and B6. Tightly secure handles on equipment. Observed toys and fixtures in classroom with loose and missing screws/bolts. Tighten loose screws/bolts and replace missing screws/bolts on furniture/fixture. Counter top in classroom B2 is separating from side splash attached to wall. Caulk/seal counter top to side splash. Observed dusty fixtures(top of cabinets, filing cabinets, smart board projectors, smart board, computer monitor and keyboard to computers and window blinds).Dust/clean fixtures often/regular to prevent the accumulation of dust.**Toys, equipment, furniture, and any other items accessible to the children shall be kept clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .2822 (a), (b).
