General Comments

Courtney Detemple (Executive Director) was present during the inspection.General Comments:#11 - Observed 3rd compartment of sink and Dish machine used to sanitize dishes. **Provide Quat test strips to test sanitizer. **Provide sanitizer test kit. 15A NCAC 18A .2812 (g)#21 - Observed the sink with pink build-up at the drain in the Healing Haven, and one sink was clogged in the Young Todds. **Keep hand washing sinks clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .2818 (a).#26 - Observed the disinfectant was at 100ppm in the Healing Haven Room. **Prepare disinfectant between 500-800 ppm chlorine daily. 15A NCAC 18A .2819 (c ) and .2801 (7).#28 - Observed Benadryl was stored on a shelf above 5ft of the floor in the Transitional Toddler and Young 3's rooms. **All medications must be stored behind lock and key. 15A NCAC 18A .2820 (d). **Designated emergency medications shall be stored out of reach of children (5 ft above the floor). 15A NCAC 18A .2820 (d).#30 - Observed hand lotion was stored on the counter throughout the center. **Approved non-hazardous products must be stored 5 ft above the floor or behind lock and key. 15A NCAC 18A .2820 (b), (c ) and (d).#31 - Observed closets (young 3's, after school) with storage on the floor. **Adequate space shall be provided for the storage of equipment, furniture, toys, clothes, linens, backpacks, book bags, diaper bags, beds, cots, mats, and supplies and shall be kept clean. 15A NCAC 18A .2820 (a).#46 - No CCA treated lumber present.#47 - Observed no vet records for the birds. **Any animals kept as pets shall be examined by a veterinarian to determine that they are free from vermin. 15A NCAC 18A .2831 (a).#48 - Observed a compost bin with worms and spoiled food was stored on the floor in the Pre-K room. **This department recommends keeping the compost bin out of reach of the children. **Composting areas and worm bins shall be covered and maintained to prevent attracting rodents or vermin. 15A NCAC 18A .2831 (h).Notes: Observed artificial turf on the playground. This department recommends having turf tested for lead content.
