General CommentsNO POINTS WERE TAKEN FOR THE FOLLOWING: #28 - CRITICAL VIOLATION Observed instant cold packs being stored in first aid kits of outdoor bags on high shelves in classrooms. EHS recommended checking first aid kits when they are new to ensure there are no hazardous items or medication being stored in them. **All medications must be stored behind lock and key. 15A NCAC 18A .2820 (d). #35 - Observed caregiver in infant room state that mouthed toys are cleaned in bucket by being sprayed with soapy water and then sprayed with sanitizer to air-dry. If using hand sink or bucket to clean toys, sink or bucket must be cleaned and disinfected four times between each step of toy cleaning. EHS suggested the three bucket method where toys are cleaned in soapy water, rinsed in clean water, and then submerged in sanitizer for two minutes. Toys that can be submerged must be submerged in sanitizer for at least two minutes. EHS emailed helpful toy cleaning document along with inspection. **In areas where children are not toilet trained, small mouth contact toys shall be washed, rinsed, sanitized (submerged for 2 minutes), and allowed to air dry, after use and more frequently when visibly dirty. 15A NCAC 18A .2822 (a).
