15A NCAC 18A .2825 (a) In child care centers, the walls and ceilings, including doors and windows, of all rooms and areas, shall be kept clean, free of visible fungal growth, and in good repair. All walls and ceilings shall be free of peeling, flaking, chalking, or otherwise deteriorating paint. Observed touch up paint needed behind trash cans in some classrooms throughout center.
15A NCAC 18A .2824 (c). Carpet shall be vacuumed daily and extraction cleaned at least once each 6 months. Cleaning materials including surfactants, solvents, and water used for extraction shall be removed from the carpet before the space is reoccupied. Observed carpet extraction documentation greater than 6 months from last extraction. EHS advises center to have proper extraction completed to be in compliance with notated rule. Observed large floor rugs with minor staining throughout classrooms within center. |
