General Comment:
15A NCAC 18A .2820 (b) (e). All hazardous items must be stored behind lock and key. A locked kitchen is not considered to be a locked storage room or cabinet for the purpose of this rule - Observed container of Clorox, disinfectant Lysol spray can in the church cabinet without locking. The locking device is too long and when lock still leave room to put hands through the open cabinet and take items out. This seems to be same with teacher locking cabinet as well. Ensure to push the lock all the way to the shortest link so it leaves no room to access the opening. Hazardous items and how to store them discussed with director at the time of inspection.
NOTE:
**Locked storage rooms and cabinets shall include those which are unlocked with a combination lock, electronic or magnetic device, keypad, key, or equivalent locking device. Keep/store keys at 5ft or higher at all time. |
