#3. Keep all walls and ceilings clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1310. Continue to touch-up paint throughout where needed if needed(storage room, patients rooms, hallway area and door framing). Wipe/clean scuff marks from lower section of wall and wall guards/protector. #32. All furniture, bed springs, mattresses, sleeping mats, draperies, curtains, shades, venetian blinds, or other furnishings in institutions shall be kept clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1319 (a). Observed seating covering starting to show wear in ED department. Refurbish or replace seating in ED department showing major wear. Replace (1) nightstand/bedside table showing wear and any other night stand/beside table which varnish is wearing off.. The (1) soiled mattress in ED clean at time of inspection. Wipe/dust top of high fixtures. #42. All potentially hazardous food products shall be maintained at 45°F, or below, or 140°F or above except during necessary periods of preparation and serving. 15A NCAC 18A .1323 (a). Observed turkey sandwiches in heart/vas recovery nourishment refrigeration unit 49F-50F. Turkey sandwiches discarded and discussion with hospital admin and food service management conducted emphasizing the importance of maintaining sandwiches 45F (recommends 41F and below). Admin and food service will be developing a plan to ensure sandwiches are maintain 45F and below (recommending 41F and below).
