General Comments

NO POINTS WERE TAKEN FOR THE FOLLOWING: #5 - Observed AC unit filters in need of cleaning in room 104 and 125. EHS advised that filters be cleaned more frequently. **Keep all ventilation equipment clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1311 (b). #11 - Observed used cups in hand sink of dining room #1 nourishment kitchen. Ensure hand washing sinks are used for hand washing only unless otherwise stated in the rules. EHS advised that all dumping and rinsing of utensils be done in the main kitchen. **Except for the stipulations stated in rule .1312 (d), hand washing sinks shall only be used for hand washing. 15A NCAC 18A .1312 (d). #34 - Observed clean linen being stored with gloves and face mask in the drawer of beauty salon. EHS reminded staff that clean linen must be covered for protection if stored with other items. **Clean linen shall be stored and handled in a separate room or area, or in another manner that will prevent contamination of clean linen. 15A NCAC 18A .1319 (b). #40 - Observed residents personal food being stored in refrigerator of dining room #1 with name on items but no dates. Observed residents personal drink in refrigerator of dining room #1 without name or date. Ensure each personal food item that is brought into the facility is labeled with residents name and the date in which it was brought into the facility. **Food brought from home by employees or visitors of patients or residents shall be stored separately from the institution's food supply and shall be labeled with the name of the person to receive the food and the date the food was brought into the facility. 15A NCAC 18A .1321 (b). #35 - Observed hair left on several items in beauty salon. Ensure items are properly cleaned. **Patient contact items shall be kept clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1319 (c).
