General CommentsAt can wash, a splitter valve is installed downstream of the atmospheric vacuum breaker. This creates a continuous pressure situation that is not properly protected from backflow. An additional backflow prevention device, such as a hose vacuum breaker (ASSE 1011), must be installed between the splitter valve and the open-ended red hose. This will be sufficient as long as there is no spray gun left unattended on end of hose. At customer self service coffee machine, water line needs a backflow prevention device installed in line between the water line and the coffee machine. Both of these must be corrected to avoid violations on future inspections.
