General Comments

The ceiling in the meat market area is currently undergoing a remodel. EHS observed active construction work taking place during the inspection. Manager stated that the meat market area is not being used for daily operations or food preparation while the remodel is in progress. Manager also stated that the ceiling remodel is scheduled to be completed by the end of the week. Manager reported the following operational adjustments during the remodel: • The walk-in cooler and walk-in freezers located in the meat market area are currently empty. o Food products are being stored in walk-in coolers and freezers located in the deli area, produce area, and dairy area. o EHS verified that the walk-in units in the meat market area were empty and that the ambient temperatures of the units were measuring within the required temperature range. • The manager stated that meats are currently being cut at an offsite location (Food Lion Meat Market #2187- 5555 WALDO BEACH DR) and then transported back to the establishment o Upon arrival, the meats are weighed, wrapped, and date labeled in the produce area. • Dishwashing is being conducted at the three-compartment sink located in the produce section. The manager will contact EHS via email (vpatton@cumberlandcountync.gov) by March 17, 2026, to provide an update confirming that the remodel has been completed and that normal daily operations have resumed in the meat market area.
